Classical India - Diwali 2024
Diwali is a religious festival also known as the Festival of Lights and is a very important festival in India. It commemorates the return to the city of Ayodhya of Prince Rama after his victory over Ravana, king of the demons. According to legend, the inhabitants of the city filled the walls and roofs with lamps so that Rama could easily find his way. From there began the tradition of lighting a multitude of lights during the night. We will visit the cities of Delhi, Jaipur, Fatehpur Sikri, Agra, Orcha, Khajuraho and Varanasi/Benares. We will see the historical monuments, Taj Mahal, the markets, elephant ride, the erotic temples of Kama Sutra in Khajuraho, the palaces of Orcha, the ghats of Benares, the sacred river Ganges, with a Spanish-speaking guide.

Special departure to see the Diwali festival of lights in India. Arrival will be in line with the first night of accommodation in Delhi from 09 NOV 2023 at 2:00 p.m. It is a good program and includes all visits, tickets and walks according to the program. 30 OCT - AMERICA/EUROPE - DELHI
Upon arrival at Delhi Airport, you will be greeted by a representative from Diva India Tours. You will be transferred to the hotel in a private car. Check-in and overnight at the hotel.
31 OCT - DELHI
Breakfast. We will visit the Lotus Temple and the Sikh Temple Gurudwara. In the afternoon, we will go on an excursion to the Akshardham Temple in Delhi, a complex made of pink stone and white marble. It is decorated with 234 columns carved in stone and has more than 20,000 sculptures and statues of divinities. At around 6:00 pm, we will visit the fair/market of the Festival of Lights organized on these dates. Dinner and accommodation.
01 NOV - DELHI - JAIPUR
Breakfast. Departure by road to Jaipur, the Pink City where the iconic facade of the Palace of the Winds is located. Arrival and check-in at the hotel. In the afternoon, photo stop at the Albert Hall Palace and the Birla Temple where the guide will tell us about this festival and we will visit the local market to see the Diwali lights. Dinner and accommodation.
02 NOV - JAIPUR - Amer - JAIPUR
Breakfast. We will visit Amber, which offers a spectacular view from the road. We will climb up to its fortified palace on elephant back. We will make a photo stop at the Palace of Wind and Lake. On the way back to Jaipur we will visit the Maharaja's Palace and its museums. We will also be amazed by the colossal instruments of the Jai Singh Observatory. At around 6:00 p.m. we will go to the city palace to see the religious ceremony of the festival of lights Diwali. Dinner and accommodation.
03 NOV - JAIPUR - Abhaneri - Fatehpur Sikri - AGRA
Breakfast. Morning departure to Agra, visiting on route the Abhaneri stepwell and the ghost town of Fatehpur Sikri, the imperial capital frozen in time. It was the last city built by Akbar and apparently abandoned due to lack of water. We continue to Agra, a city that alternated with Delhi as the capital of the Mughal Empire. Dinner and overnight at hotel.
04 NOV - IN AGRA
Breakfast. Visit to the Taj Mahal, which captivates those who contemplate it with its unsurpassed architectural perfection. Next, we will visit the Red Fort of Agra, on the banks of the Yamuna River, in the heart of the city. It reflects Indian architecture under three Mughal emperors: Akbar, Jehangir and Shah Jahan. Next, we will visit Akbar's church. Dinner and accommodation.
05 NOV - AGRA - Jhansi - Orcha - KHAJURAHO
Breakfast. Departure by Shatabdi Express train to Jhansi and continue by road to Orcha, visit the Raj Mahal Palace. After lunch, continue by road to Khajuraho, home to the most exquisite temples in India built between the 10th and 11th centuries by the Chandela kings. Dinner at the hotel.
06 NOV - KHAJURAHO - VARANASI
Breakfast. In the morning we will visit some of the 22 temples or nagaras that still remain. Although they have very different motifs, the most famous figures are the so-called mithuna that stand on high platforms. Afterwards, we will fly to Benares, the city of the Thousand Steps and also the most sacred city in India. In the afternoon, we will go to the banks of the Ganges River to see the evening ceremony Aarti. Dinner at the hotel.
07 NOV - VARANASI - Sarnath - VARANASI
At dawn we will take a boat ride along the Ganges, where we will see the faithful along the ghats, purifying themselves and making their offerings. Then we will take a walk through the labyrinth of streets of the city, where the streets are a stage for life. Return to the hotel and breakfast. Next, we will visit the village of Buddha, Sarnath. Here Buddha gave his first sermon, and we will visit the archaeological zone, museum and garden.
Dinner and accommodation at hotel.
08 NOV - VARANASI - DELHI - EUROPE/AMERICA
Breakfast. At noon, transfer to Varanasi airport to take the flight to Delhi.
Upon arrival at Delhi Airport, you will be in transit to catch your flight to your next destination.
