Itinerary - Holi 2023 - 5 nights in India
DAY 1 04 MAR - AMERICA/EUROPE - DELHI (AD)
Upon arrival at Delhi Airport, you will be greeted by a representative from Diva India Tours. You will be transferred to the hotel in a private car. Check-in and overnight at the hotel.
DELHI: India's modern capital is also an ancient city whose origins are lost in legend. Hundreds of monuments adorn it, with their carved and thousand-year-old history. From this city numerous Hindu and Muslim dynasties, including the Mughals, ruled India. No less than 7 successive cities existed here before the arrival of the British, who would create, with the help of Sir Edwin Lutyens, their dream capital.
DAY 2 05 MAR - IN DELHI
Breakfast. In the morning, we will visit Jama Masjid, the largest mosque in India, in the heart of Old Delhi. We will take a photo stop at the Red Fort and go to Raj Ghat, where Gandhi was cremated, and the Sikh temple Gurudwara bangla Sahib. We will have a panoramic view of the government buildings along the Raj Path and the imposing India Gate. To complete our tour, we will visit the impressive Qutub Minar Minaret, 72 meters high. DAY 3 06 MAR - DELHI - AGRA
Breakfast. Departure by road to Agra, the city of Taj Mahal.
Upon arrival, visit the Red Fort of Agra, built by Emperor Akbar and home to numerous palaces.
Next, we will visit the world-famous Taj Mahal (closed on Fridays), one of the seven wonders of the world, built on the banks of the Yamuna River. We will enjoy the views of this monument, a symbol of eternal love, to see it at sunset. Its construction began in 1631 and for 22 years, 22,000 people worked to build one of the most beautiful monuments in the world, dedicated by Emperor Shah Jahan to his wife Mumtaz Mahal. DAY 4 07 MAR - AGRA - Fatehpur Sikri - JAIPUR
Breakfast. At 08:00 departure to Jaipur, stopping 40 km from Agra to visit the beautiful Mughal city of Fatehpur Sikri. This is one of the most beautiful desert cities in India.
The foundation of this ghost city was dedicated by Emperor Akbar to Saint Salim Chisti, who blessed him and predicted the birth of his son. In gratitude, Akbar built the city in 1569. After a short period of time, the city was abandoned due to lack of water. After the visit, you will continue by road to Jaipur. Arrival in Jaipur .
Next, we will take a panoramic tour of Jaipur (named after Maharajah Jai Singh, a prince and astronomer who designed and founded the city in 1727). We will visit the Maharaja's Palace, a former royal residence and today a museum of manuscripts, Rajput and Mughal paintings and weapons.
In the late afternoon, we will see the Holi bonfires in the city. Dinner and accommodation.
DAY 5 08 MAR - IN JAIPUR - Festival of Colours
Breakfast. Today is the day of the Colour Festival. We will take part in the festival from 9:00 to 12:30 hrs. in the city. We will return to the hotel.
Free afternoon for personal activities. Dinner at the hotel.
DAY 06 09 MAR - JAIPUR - Amber Fort - DELHI / EUROPE
Breakfast. Check-out from the hotel. We will drive through the residential and business areas of the pink city, passing in front of the Hawa Mahal (Palace of the Winds), one of the most famous monuments of Jaipur. Excursion to the Amber Fort, the former capital of the State until 1728. A unique experience: we will drive up to the top of the hill on which the fort stands.
At 3:00 PM, departure to Delhi International Airport to board your flight to your next destination.
