Author's Journey - Isabel - Diwali 2024
Diwali is a religious festival also known as the Festival of Lights and is a very important festival in India. It commemorates the return to the city of Ayodhya of Prince Rama after his victory over Ravana, king of the demons. According to legend, the inhabitants of the city filled the walls and roofs with lamps so that Rama could easily find his way. From there began the tradition of lighting a multitude of lights during the night. We will visit the cities of Delhi, Jaipur, Fatehpur Sikri, Agra and Varanasi/Benares. We will see the historical monuments, Taj Mahal, the markets, elephant ride, the ghats of Benares, the sacred river Ganges, with a Spanish-speaking guide.

27 OCT - ARRIVAL IN DELHI
Upon arrival in Delhi, upon departure from the terminal, you will be greeted by a representative of Viajes Diva. Transfer and accommodation.
28 OCT - In DELHI
Breakfast. In the morning we visit Jama Masjid, the largest mosque in India, in the heart of Old Delhi. Later we go to Raj Ghat, where Gandhi was cremated, to continue with a panoramic view of the government buildings along the Raj Path and the imposing India Gate. To complete our tour we visit the impressive Qutub Minar minaret, 72 metres high. Dinner at the hotel.
29 OCT - DELHI - AGRA
Breakfast at the hotel and departure by road to Agra. Arrival in Agra and check in at the hotel. Next, visit the Red Fort of Agra, built by Emperor Akbar and home to numerous palaces.
Next, we will visit the world-famous Taj Mahal (closed on Fridays), one of the seven wonders of the world, built on the banks of the Yamuna River. We will enjoy the views of this monument, a symbol of eternal love, to see it at sunset.
Its construction began in 1631 and for 22 years, 22,000 people worked to build one of the most beautiful monuments in the world, dedicated by Emperor Shah Jahan to his wife Mumtaz Mahal.
You can visit the market to see the local handicrafts of Agra city, famous for its white marble handicrafts using precious and semi-precious stones.

30 OCT - AGRA - Fatehpur Sikri - JAIPUR
Breakfast. Departure by road to Jaipur, stopping 40 km from Agra to visit the beautiful Mughal city of Fatehpur Sikri. This is one of the most beautiful desert cities in India.
The foundation of this ghost city was dedicated by Emperor Akbar to Saint Salim Chisti, who blessed him and predicted the birth of his son. In gratitude. After the visit, you will continue by road to Jaipur. Arrival in Jaipur and check in at the hotel.
In the afternoon, panoramic tour of the city of Jaipur, where in addition to an orientation tour of the pink city and its bazaars, you can see the Albert Hall (Palace built by the Maharaja of Jaipur to commemorate the visit of King George of England), now converted into a museum. Next, we will visit the Birla Temple of the Hindu religion.

31 OCT - JAIPUR - Amer - JAIPUR
Breakfast. We will visit Amber, which offers a spectacular view from the road. We will climb up to its fortified palace on elephant back. We will make a photo stop at the Palace of Wind and Lake. On the way back to Jaipur we will visit the Maharaja's Palace and its museums. We will also be amazed by the colossal instruments of the Jai Singh Observatory. At around 6:00 p.m. we will go to the city palace to see the religious ceremony of the festival of lights Diwali. Dinner and accommodation.
01 NOV - JAIPUR - Festival of Lights
Breakfast. Visit Patrika Gate, a picturesque place famous for its painted gates, for photographs. Stroll through the centre of Jaipur to see the markets.
At around 6:00 pm, we will go to the city palace or to the house of a Hindu family to watch the religious ceremony of the festival of lights Diwali
Dinner and accommodation at hotel.
02 NOV - JAIPUR - Delhi Airport
Breakfast. At 9 am, drive to Delhi Airport to catch your flight to your next destination. We will drop you off at Delhi Airport at around 2:00 pm.
